Covid-19 is a scary, unpredictable international pandemic. Some folks recover, and some men and women – it fatally destroys the lungs. We have noticed it is not just seniors and those with pre-existing health-related circumstances that succumb to the virus. Is there a possibility for this horrifying pandemic and for future global viral attacks – can we do a lot more to guard ourselves? Let’s take a look at immune function.

Our immune technique is divided into 2 categories:

Our innate immunity is the immune technique we are born with, and functions to maintain foreign threats out – bacteria, viruses, toxins…

Our adaptive immunity, the physique identifies a threat, and we generate antibodies especially created to that threat. The threat is neutralized, and the adaptive immune program “remembers” it, so hopefully future responses to the same threat are also neutralized.

We frequently hear people speak about “strengthening our immune system”. There is a truly obscene amount of supplements that claim to do that.

What we genuinely need is a balanced immune program. When out of balance, the immune system not only fails to shield us, but it can even turn against us, mistaking our personal cells for invading pathogens (nasties), resulting in debilitating chronic inflammation and autoimmune illnesses. Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies are all examples of autoimmune responses.

Now let’s take a look at Covid-19:

COVID-19 is an illness caused by a coronavirus. Human coronaviruses are common and are usually connected with mild illnesses, similar to the common cold.

According to the Mayo Clinic:
